COVID 19 Update
As you are aware, our nation, our state, and our local area is currently at war with an unseen enemy, and that enemy is the Coronavirus (Covid-19).
Our world, as we know it, has changed significantly during the month of March. All governments from national, state, and local have now declared some form of emergency regarding this virus. The highest recommendation we have been given is to limit exposure by attempting as much as possible to practice social distancing.
We at Community Spirit Bank want to be good corporate citizens and attempt to adhere to this guidance as much as possible. However, we are also mindful that outside of family and community events, three staples people want to continue to have access to are their bank, their grocery store, and medical attention.
We have monitored the situation with this virus continually, and our team has been meeting many times a day in an effort to attempt to remain what we always have for you, accessible, convenient, and responsive. That will continue to be our highest priority.
In light of current developing trends in the rise in cases of the virus in our service area and to practice social distancing, we made the decision to limit our lobbies to be by appointment only beginning Friday, March 20, 2020.
This decision was not made lightly and has been a very difficult one to come by. Still, for the safety of our customers and our staff, we feel it is the right decision to help in the social distancing recommendation to help reduce the spread of the virus.
I want you to know that all of our drive-thrus will remain open, active, and ready to serve your needs. Further, all of our ATM’s will be fully available for you to access cash 24/7/365. Further, as has always been our practice, online banking and bill pay will continue to be free of charge. This includes our newest functionalities of Mobile Check Deposit and Person to Person Payments, which are included in your online and mobile banking applications.
We understand that you may need to come to our offices and visit with one of our staff members and we are asking that you do so by appointment only. You will continue to be able to gain access to your safe deposit boxes, discuss loan and deposit products like you normally would but we just ask that you make an appointment first.
You can find a list of direct contact information for all of our team members so that you can deal with your personal banker as you have been accustomed. If you are unsure of what you need or whom to talk to, I encourage you to reach out to me directly. My cell is 256-627-7915 and my email is This email address is being protected from spambots. If you have become a victim of the virus, thereby losing your job, being laid off, or have been negatively affected in any way, we want to hear from you so we can help provide solutions for your needs.
I appreciate how our communities have and continue to rally around our small business customers - including your local financial institutions, and how you are joining each of us as we pray for this to pass.
We are all in this together, and there has never been a more significant time for us to band together to work cooperatively to face this challenge together.
I thank you for your business and for allowing us to serve this community since 1908! Please utilize all of our digital means of banking as much as you can, but know we are just a phone, text, or email away from further service and will be glad to make appointments for you to further your banking needs. Know that as a depositor of Community Spirit Bank, your deposits are safe. We earned our FDIC Certificate #50 decades ago, and that gold seal certifies and cements that your deposits are safe at your local bank.
I am confident that our good Lord will see us through these trying times, and I look forward to normalcy in the near future.
Thank you!
